Project Little Dream
Project Little Dream is a registered charity in Hong Kong that designs, builds and runs rural village schools in Takeo, Cambodia. It was founded in December 2008 by fifteen university students with a common dream – to further education in underprivileged areas around the world. With the Architecture team, Education team and Health Care team, Project Little dream integrate efforts from different field of works into the design of the school facility and teaching curriculum.
Today, 530 Cambodian children are studying English in the three schools built by Project Little Dream in Prey Run Village, Kh’na Rong Village and Thon Mun Village in Takeo, Cambodia. Each year, more than 60 volunteers from Hong Kong participate in the school building projects that Project Little Dream organises.
Francis Wong is Executive Director of Project Little Dream and an alumni of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Francis majored in Architectural Studies and served as the Vice President of the Architectural Student Association. After graduating from the school of architecture in CUHK, he became increasing concerned with global problems of inequality and poverty, and proactively took part in various overseas service trips hoping to lend a helping hand to the underprivileged. The trip to Cambodia in 2006 and rural Morocco in 2007 has lead him to take a further step in serving the less fortunate and has subsequently motivated him to join Project Little Dream.
